Having an artist in the family comes in handy! When our Coast Guard documentation became official, it was time get busy designing the name. If you recall, we settled on the name Serendipity, and you can read the story here.

We really loved her previous name, but it just had no sentimental meaning for our family. We felt Serendipity perfectly depicted the way in which we found our boat. We really wanted to somehow include her old name, Syrena, meaning Mermaid, in our new name design. When I talked to my cousin, who is an amazing artist, I asked her to somehow incorporate a mermaid into the design. It took a few tries, but she eventually nailed it out of the park when she designed the mermaid jumping out of the water to meet a fish – which perfectly depicted our family.

Without further ado… we officially welcome Serendipity! And what better way to celebrate her new name by launching back into the water tomorrow!
