Live the voyage is not just a family skipping town for a year in the Caribbean on a boat. It’s a choice. A choice not to have 2.2 kids; a choice not to overschedule ourselves; a choice not to overextend our children with activities in an attempt to get them into a good college – because everyone is doing it. Live the voyage is a choice to live with conviction and take time to enjoy life’s simple pleasures.
Live the voyage started when Kevin and Stephanie got married, had four kids, looked at each and asked, “what are we doing this for?” We both at (most) times struggle with authority, question the norm, and don’t find any satisfaction in grinding out a day, a week, a year, or even a life. We have always done things unconventially, and after a bout with cancer we decided it was time to stop talking and start living, so we have bought a boat and intend to spend some time sailing the Caribbean, beginning in the fall of 2018. Follow us hear as we learn all we learn and prepare to take our family aboard Serendipity, a 2011 Jeanneau 44i.
